While the term ESG may be facing pushback, disclosure requirements on environment, social and governance (ESG) issues are still relevant and evolving. This webinar will explore the rapidly unfolding regulatory landscape for emerging Mandatory ESG Reporting standards as well as the legal, political and economic forces that can influence these regimes. The discussion will provide an overview of the regulations in the United States (both State & Federal), Europe, and others around the globe with a dialogue on the range of issues companies face when preparing for disclosure.
Lucy Bruce Jones is a health, safety and environment lawyer based in London. Her experience is strengthened by her background in civil and environmental engineering. Her practice includes strategic advice to in-house legal teams and corporate boards on HSE issues which also encompassed those arising as a result of COVID-19. She advises on both non-contentious transactional deals and developments and on contentious matters as well as on regulatory and product liability issues. Her clients span all industries and sectors including built environment, manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, mining and minerals, transport and technology. She has extensive experience of dealing with the regulatory authorities such as the Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive and Marine Management Organisation.
Kelly is a transactional attorney in the Environmental and Natural Resources group of Vinson & Elkins LLP. She advises clients on various matters, including low-carbon ventures, and counsels private equity, financial institutions, and public and private companies on environmental liabilities and risk-management across a range of industries. Kelly is also a part of the Governance and Sustainability group. In that role, she advises energy companies, financial institutions and funds on climate-related disclosures and various ESG-related matters, including climate reporting and compliance with various disclosure frameworks, both domestic and global.
Meagen Stack is the Manager of ESG Reporting at Chevron, with almost two decades of experience in various leadership, financial and analytical roles within the company. She is located in San Ramon, California, United States. Meagen Stack earned a Master’s degree in Professional Accounting from the Texas McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin - Red McCombs School of Business.
