Companies navigating the energy transition continue to face pressure from various stakeholders to manage greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and net-zero commitments have increasingly become not just an approach for addressing energy-transition risks, but also an expectation from certain investors, shareholders, and governmental authorities. At the same time, there is also heightened scrutiny of emission reduction and sustainability claims and a rising tide of greenwashing litigation.
