This presentation will take a fact-pattern approach to vendor-operator lien issues, walking attendees through a fictional contract dispute between an unpaid well services provider and the operator of the subject well. It will cover both the process by which the services provider claims, perfects and prosecutes the lien, as well as the potential actions the operator might take to resolve the dispute or defend against the services provider’s contract and lien foreclosure claims. The presentation will feature majority viewpoints on the issues covered while identifying specialized matters that exist in certain states.
