ESG at a Time of Energy Insecurity


In recent years, all eyes have been on ESG: from the Paris Accords and the SEC’s proposed rule changes on climate disclosures to institutional investors and burgeoning investments in energy transition businesses. As long-term investments in upstream resources and production tighten, energy supplies have been impacted by both the Russian/Ukraine conflict and the demand rebound from the world’s COVID-19 pandemic recovery. In the face of higher energy prices and energy insecurity, does ESG still have place at the table?
