Based in Los Angeles, Pillsbury partner Stacie Yee is the Firm’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer and, in that role, is part of Pillsbury’s 6-person Executive Team and an ex oficio member of Pillsbury’s Managing Board, Partner Compensation Committee, and Board Committee on the Advancement of Diverse Attorneys. She co-leads Pillsbury’s Equal Justice Task Force, which oversees implementation of Pillsbury’s three-year, $11 million commitment to pro bono and volunteer work, initiatives, and programming focused on civil rights and equal justice work, emphasizing racial justice issues.
Stacie also handles employment litigation, arbitration and counseling, and complex commercial litigation for a global clientele. She litigates wage and hour, California Labor Code Private Attorneys General Act, discrimination, and retaliation/whistleblower, including qui tam, actions. She has litigated trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition and false advertising claims. Stacie regularly provides preventative counseling to help clients avoid litigation and advises on contracts, policies, leaves and disability accommodations, terminations and other issues. She regularly helps Asia-based clients navigate employment law issues as they enter the U.S. market, and has worked closely with foreign airlines on employment-related and litigation matters. She rounds out her practice by providing employment-related assistance in due diligence on M&A transactions.
Stacie co-chairs the Policing Working Group of the Law Firm Anti-racism Alliance, a coalition of over 250 law firms collaborating to address systemic racial equity issues. She is a member of the Advisory Board for the Berger Institute at Claremont McKenna College, and previously served on the LCLD Fellows Alumni Executive Council for Leadership Counsel on Legal Diversity. In 2019, she was named one of the "Most Influential Minority Attorneys" by the Los Angeles Business Journal, 2019 and has consistently been recognized by Super Lawyers as a "Southern California Rising Star." During law school, she served as an extern to Associate Justice Earl Johnson Jr. of the California Court of Appeals. She earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and graduated cum laude from Claremont McKenna College. She is admitted to practice law in California and Washington State.
