Matt Sherwood is a shareholder at Brown & Fortunato, PC in Amarillo, Texas where he serves as the head of the firm’s Litigation Group. Matt is licensed in Texas, Oklahoma, the Northern District of Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Matt is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. When Matt obtained his certification in Civil Trial Law, he became the youngest attorney in the state of Texas to hold both Board Certifications.

Matt’s practice includes representing individuals and businesses in numerous types of litigation matters, including oil and gas, contracts, construction, employment matters, personal injury, professional liability, products liability, real estate, tort, and insurance defense. In oil and gas matters, Matt regularly represents clients in production in paying quantity disputes, contract disputes, joint operating disputes, and oilfield injury claims.

Matt has tried more than two dozen cases to verdict and has handled numerous matters at the appellate level, as well. Matt’s success has led to his selection as a Rising Star by Texas Lawyer Magazine every year since 2012.
