Matthew Kelsall

Mr. Kelsall is a Director in the Power, Renewables & Energy Transition (PRET) team within FTI Consulting's Corporate Finance & Restructuring practice based in Denver. He brings more than 15 years of corporate finance, merger and acquisition and capital markets experience across several industries and has extensive experience in valuations and financial modeling, capital markets, corporate development and investor relations.
Since joining FTI, Mr. Kelsall has advised clients within the U.S. and abroad on strategic financial planning, financial due diligence, business plan review, capital allocation strategy and project finance. Recently, Mr. Kelsall assisted the Department of Energy on the project finance modeling for an Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing project loan.
Prior to FTI, Mr. Kelsall spent 6 years at Newmont Corporation, the world’s largest gold mining company. At Newmont, Mr. Kelsall worked within the Investor Relations, Strategic Finance and Corporate Development teams to effect and communicate the company’s long-term strategic plan and completed a variety of transactions from deal sourcing, due diligence, structuring, execution, and integration.
Prior to Newmont Corporation, Mr. Kelsall spent 6 years at GVC Capital LLC, a boutique investment bank focused on capital formation and advisory services for small cap publicly traded companies. At GVC Capital, his responsibilities included transaction modeling, due diligence, investment documentation, and investor relations. While at GVC Capital, Mr. Kelsall maintained FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.
Mr. Kelsall holds Bachelor of Business Administration from University of Colorado at Boulder, a minor in Economics from University of Colorado at Boulder, a Master of Finance from University of Colorado at Denver, and a Master of Business Analytics from the University of Colorado at Denver. Mr. Kelsall serves on the Advisory Council for the JP Morgan Center for Commodities and Energy Management.
